The Illawarra Mini Bike Training Club (IMBTC) was formed in March 1972 by Ray Barwick and a group of parents. Ray ran a mini bike shop at Arncliffe.
The club’s inaugural meeting was held at the Coronation Hall, Arncliffe .

The club’s first venue was the old brick pits in Kingsgrove – now a light industrial area called Gareema Circuit.
The club moved to Alford’s Point, Menai around 1975, and operated there until the late 80s.
40 year reunion
Most of the black and white pictures of the brick pit days were taken by Bill Vale, a professional photographer from Arncliffe.
They were kindly supplied by Ray Barwick’s son, Graeme and scanned by yours truly.
