The Kawasaki MT75 was a step up from the Deckson.
It used a two stroke 73cc engine, producing 4 HP, driving a three speed gearbox via an automatic clutch. The handlebars folded down, making it easy to transport.
It had a separate oil tank, so you didn’t need to mess about mixing oil and petrol.
The MT75 was first produced in 1971. Production ran until 1980.
The first models had a green tank and external springs on the front forks.

The colour changed to orange and the fork springs were internal on the second model – this was the most popular model in Australia and IMBTC.

Green came back into fashion with the third model – probably the best looking of the MT75s. The longer front mudguard balances the bike nicely.
